Doctoral Dissertation Proposal of UNEP-IEMP Ph.D. candidate Ms. Yueming Cao approved by the Thesis Supervisory Committee

On January 20, 2021, the doctoral dissertation proposal report of Ms. Yueming Cao, a Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of researcher Zhang Linxiu, director of United Nations Environment Programme -International Ecosystem Management Partnership (UNEP-IEMP), successfully approved by the thesis supervisory committee. More than 20 people from UNEP-IEMP attended the report.

The topic of doctoral dissertation that Ms. Cao intend to finish is "The relationship study of property rights stability, farmland transfer and agricultural scale management". In the report, she presented the research background, questions, objectives, methodology, expected results and research plan. This paper will clarify the implementation path of China's new round of agricultural land ownership policy, reveal the impact of the stability of property rights on agricultural land transfer and the impact of agricultural land transfer on various forms of agricultural scale operation, so as to provide a scientific support for China's agricultural development and policy-making, which is facing continuous reduction of agricultural operation scale and therefore needs immediate attentions.

Five senior researchers and professors from Peking University, China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhang Linxiu expressed affirmation and encouragement for Ms. Cao 's research work, and put forward valuable guidance on the innovation of research, the improvement of the scheme and the rationality of the next research arrangement. In the voting session, the five supervisors agreed that the proposal of this doctoral dissertation has met the standards and offered their approval for the report. 

As an international platform established under the partnership between the UN Environment Programme and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, UNEP-IEMP has always included talent development in its core tasks in order to achieve self-development, promote institutional cooperation and give back to the society. In the future, UNEP-IEMP will continue undertake the responsibility of talent development and capacity building to fulfill various domestic and international demands.
