The fourth edition of the Mountain Futures International Conference will take place from 24 to 28 September 2025 in Kunming, China. It will be held under the theme:"Inclusive Bioeconomy: Mountain-Based Approaches for Nature Positive and Climate Resilience". This event will be hosted by the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and co-organized by the United Nations Environment Programme - International Ecosystem Management Partnership (UNEP-IEMP), the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Mountain Partnership, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, the World Agroforestry Centre, the Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Shan Shui Nature Conservation Center. The five-day event will bring together scientists, policymakers, Indigenous Peoples and practitioners to share knowledge, innovations and community-driven solutions that support ecosystem restoration, rural revitalization and sustainable development in mountain regions.
