UNEP-IEMP
Abstract

In order to support policy makers, practitioners and researchers to collectively address the challenges related to ecosystem management and sustainable livelihoods at the Phnom Kulen National Park, this report compiles the key interventions implemented by different organisations and offers potential options related to ecosystem management that can support sustainable livelihoods of the communities living inside the Phnom Kulen National Park. This study is based on interviews with village chiefs, elder villagers and other key stakeholders. Additionally, this study reviewed existing literature, reports and case studies which identified as good practices and provided an understanding of the current ecosystem and livelihoods situation in or around the Phnom Kulen National Park. This report also highlights the key challenges and feasible options to address gender mainstreaming.

This is a knowledge product prepared under the context of the project “Improving Ecosystem Management for Sustainable Livelihoods within the Framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation”, funded by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China, through the China Trust Fund to UNEP.
