Guoqin Wang is a Programme Manager of UNEP-IEMP. She is responsible for strategic programming, proposal development and overseeing project implementation since 2017.
As a founding member, she played a key role in the development of UNEP-IEMP till now. At the Center`s establishing stage in 2010, Guoqin served as an assistant to the Director. In 2014-2016, she was the project manager of GEF funded EbA South project, responsible for the day-to-day management of this global project in the domain of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) and South-South Cooperation. She also served as Chief Operations Officer at UNEP-IEMP in late 2016. In all these years, she has gathered rich experience in programme and project management, partnership building, institutional development and administration.
Prior to this, Guoqin worked with the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN) as a project officer responsible for international cooperation activities and outreach in 2008-2010. During this period, she also served as a coordinator for the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) task force on ecosystem services and management strategy.
Guoqin holds a Masters in Ecology from the South China Botanical Garden (SCBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
