Jialin He

Dr. Jialin He is an environment professional with 7 years of working experience in China, and is working as a programme officer at UNEP-IEMP. She is responsible for the management of the projects that are related to ecosystem and biodiversity economics, and coordination and preparation of major events held by UNEP-IEMP. She carries experience and expertise in applying scientific approaches to analyze environmental issues, conducting scoping studies, building institutional partnerships, and securing and managing funds. 

She is dedicated to the work that can help establish ecosystem integrity of different levels, through science for policy or knowledge sharing. She has particular interest in understanding the coupling effect of natural and socio-economic systems. In her study on urban green space’s ecosystem services, she studied to what extent and how city dwellers benefit from green spaces through behavioral change, and proposed a conceptual framework that can help assess efficiency and equity in the use of urban green space. 

Earlier in her career, she worked as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project manager and had 9 climate change mitigation projects registered at the UNFCCC. She was a key member in launching the South-South Cooperation on Climate Change Forum (SSCCC Forum), that has now become a regular setting on the side lines of the UNFCCC COPs.

Jialin holds a PhD and a Masters in Ecology from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and a Bachelors in Environmental Engineering.
