Tatirose Vijitpan

Ms Vijitpan has almost 20 years of experience and she joined the UNEP-IEMP in 2016. Her roles and responsibilities are related to developing and implementing various initiatives under UNEP-IEMP’s Flagship Programme on Climate, Ecosystems and Livelihoods (CEL). Particularly, she leads the CEL’s portfolio in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. The main and recent projects under her responsibility include:

  • ·Improving Ecosystem Management for Sustainable Livelihoods in Cambodia and China within the Framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation;
  • ·Enhancing Capacity, Knowledge and Technology Support to Build Climate Resilience of Vulnerable Developing Countries (Ecosystem-based Adaptation through South-South Cooperation: EbA South);
  • ·Sustainable Livelihood and Green Development Strategies in Environment-Economic Fragile Areas; and
  • ·Adaptive Management of Agro-ecosystem in Bangladesh, India and Myanmar in the Context of Climate Change and Regional Food Security.

Previously, she worked with the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Climate Change and Adaptation Initiative;Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia Centre under the Sustainable Mekong Research Network (SUMERNET) and the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Knowledge Platform for Asia; and WWF Thailand’s Energy and Climate Change Unit. Ms Vijitpan holds a Master of Science on Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management, an Erasmus Mundus masters course from the Central European University (Hungary), the University of the Aegean(Greece), Lund University (Sweden) and the University of Manchester (UK).
