The book was produced with UNEP-IEMP as one of the editors. Building on the previous edition (“Seeds that give: Participatory plant breeding”, published in 2003), it presents 11 cases, covering Asia, Africa, America, and Europe, on the contribution of participatory plant breeding (PPB) in agricultural biodiversity conservation, agricultural transformation and rural revitalization. The publication  provides readers with the latest developments in PPB as well as a perspective to compare the work in this field both in China and other countries, so as to have a better understanding on the potential of China’s PPB in green agricultural development and rural revitalization.
