On December 6th, 2024, the EU-China Expert Workshop on Nature-based Solutions and Adaptation was organized by Client Earth and the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy (PRCEE) of China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The workshop brought together experts from European countries and China to share experiences and knowledge around policies and actions on nature-based solutions (NbS) to address climate adaptation. It also presented a new report “Nature-based solutions: Lessons from European and Chinese cases” from the EU–China Cooperation on Environment and Green Economy Project.
In this regard, UNEP-IEMP was invited to share relevant NbS experiences and views on the new report. Ms Tatirose Vijitpan, UNEP-IEMP Climate Change Adaptation Specialist, delivered a speech on China’s rich knowledge and experiences on NbS as well as technology transfer, knowledge sharing and cooperation that UNEP-IEMP has engaged China with other developing/developed countries through South-South and Triangular cooperation in various forms surrounding the topic of NbS.
